PALMER MUSEUM GARDEN & ART FAIRE

It's still mid summer, it's still operated by the Palmer Museum...the Palmer Museum Garden and Art Faire, PMGAF, is a one-day community based event that began in 2009, that uses the garden as a central component to connect with our lives and each other.

Fans of the PMGAF come from all over: summer tourists, valley locals and residents from all over the state of Alaska. The Faire is unlike any other event in our state in that it provides attendees free access to a wide selection of gardening and art instructional classes, local agricultural producers, several art organizations and museums, not to mention, a variety of vendors, local musicians and cultural performers. The PMGAF has become such a widely attended event with an estimated 1,600 people from over 9 Alaskan communities present each year including Alaska State Governor, Bill Walker, in attendance in 2015 and Senator Lisa Murkowski in 2016!

For more details about this year's PMGAF, please visit our event web-site at:www.palmergardenandart.org.

Palmer Wine Walk

Help support the Palmer Museum by kicking off the Palmer Museum Garden and Art Faire weekend with Palmer's second annual Wine Walk! On Friday, July 7th from 6-9PM, the Palmer Museum will once again host a special Wine Walk to help support Museum operations and the Palmer Midsummer Garden and Art Faire. Tickets for this year's event are $40 per person (if you are tasting) and $10 per person (if you are a designated driver or non-tasting guest) . Attendees who are tasting will receive a personal hand painted wine glass, a customized wine yolk, 7 tastings from an assortment of wines (all flown in from Washington), and light appetizers.Non-tasters will be able to accompany their tasting buddies and will have a variety of non-alcoholic beverages available to them along with plenty of snacks. Wine tastings will occur at 7 various downtown Palmer Businesses. There will also be plenty of photo opportunities along the way to capture the evening's festivities with the Palmer Museum's living art photo displays. The Palmer Wine Walk is definitely the event not to miss this summer!

TICKETS
We are doing a few things different this year. Palmer Wine Walk tickets will become available first to Museum members beginning on Wednesday, May 3rd. To purchase your tickets you MUST be a registered Museum member for 2017. There will then be a pre-sale for all those who attend the Palmer Museum's Annual Celebration on Saturday, May 6th. To take advantage of the pre-sale, you must purchase your tickets in-person during the event. Tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning Tuesday, May 9th, at the Palmer Museum (723 S. Valley Way) and may be purchased, at that time, over the phone or in-person. Participants can purchase their tickets without I.D. but will be required to present a valid I.D. on the day of the event to gain entrance to the festivities and collect their wine tasting supplies (regardless if they have already purchased a ticket). We sold all 250 tickets the day after they went on sale to the general public last year so to help you all out, we have opened up an additional 50 tickets which means there will ONLY be 300 tickets (for tasters) available this year. We suggest you purchase your tickets as early as possible. For any further information please call the museum at 746-7668. We will post updates on Facebook so please keep on checking!

TICKETS FOR THE 2017 WINE WALK ARE CURRENTLY SOLD OUT. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO STILL TRY TO SECURE TICKETS FOR THIS YEAR, PLEASE VISIT OUR FACEBOOK PAGE WHERE A FEW OF OUR GUESTS, WHO HAVE LAST MINUTE SCHEDULING CONFLICTS, ARE KNOW TO SELL THEIR TICKETS AT THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE PRICE.
