SUMMARY:Tour of the Farm
DESCRIPTION:Join us IN PERSON or on Facebook Live for a free walking tour of our Farm with director Jodie Anderson as she provides information and history. We have a LOT going on here this Summer and are excited to share the opportunities to get involved and learn. \n\n\n\nThe University of Alaska Fairbanks Matanuska Experiment Farm and Extension Center strives to make programs accessible for all individuals. We will move as a group a short distance from our main building to our variety trials passing our cow pen on our dirt packed trail. This is about a 1/4 mile distance that is wheel chair accessible. If you join us for a tour in the Winter months we regularly clear snow and lay down gravel\, but we recommend you bring along someone to assist you if you are using a wheelchair. If you do not have a winter/snow-friendly wheelchair then the option of driving and meeting the group at the second location is welcome. Please let us know if this is something you would like to do. If you or a family member who is attending a program need other accommodations such as an ASL interpreter to participate\, please contact our office with at least 7 days in advance to request services.Feel free to call our office with any questions (907) 745-3360 or email Jessica Bird @jbird@alaska.edu or Theresa Isaac @tmisaac@alaska.edu See Less

SUMMARY:Happy Run
DESCRIPTION:The Happy Run is a fun run organized by Active Soles Performance Footwear in Palmer. It takes place every Monday at 6 p.m. \n\n\n\nStarting at the Active Soles shop located in the Koslosky’s building in Palmer. This event happens year round and is a family friendly activity catering to everyone\, from the more serious athletes to walking parents with strollers. \n\n\n\nThough the runs are chosen to avoid traffic as much as possible\, we believe in safety first during the winter months so headlamps and reflective gear are REQUIRED. \n\n\n\nSign up to register for each run\, where we will keep track of your participation. After each week’s run\, participants can pick up a raffle ticket to become eligible for the free prize giveaways at 7 p.m.
