COURSE DETAILS: The course takes you through our pastures and perimeter of our 75 acre property. No part of the course is paved at any point, it is over mowed pastureland throughout the entire race. There will be sections of uneven footing and hills. A large portion of the course is not shaded, so don’t forget the sunscreen! Water is not provided on the course, so please plan to bring your own. There will be water for filling bottles/ camelbaks before and after the race. You will be rewarded with amazing views of the Chugach & Talkeetna mountains, and musk oxen of course! The course takes you to parts of the property not usually open to the public.
OTHER DETAILS:
Light snacks will be provided.
Parking will be limited, so please carpool with friends!
No stopping to view the animals along the course will be permitted, no petting or touching musk oxen is allowed at any time.
Restroom options will include outdoor washrooms, porta-potties, and indoor facilities.
Masks are required inside our building, if you wish to use the indoor restrooms or come into the gift shop, you will need to have a mask with you.
MASKS: Race participants will not be required to wear a mask while on the course. However, at the time of the writing of this event, our protocols require masks for all visitors inside of our building, and outside during their tour with us. This is at the recommendation of the Alaska Sate Vet, as musk oxen are thought to be susceptible to COVID-19.The course will be set in a way that ensures participants will not be gathering around a musk ox at close range next to fencing, as can happen on our regular tours. We felt it was important to bring up the distinction as to why masks are still required at any other time other than on the course for race day. That said, please bring a mask with you for use inside our building.
