It began in 2005 when members of the Pyrah family decided that they wanted to share the bounty that their U-Pick farm had experienced that year and a bit of who they were with the community. The Pyrah’s knew that the families they created the festival for didn’t want to spend a lot of money to have a good time, but they were aching for a positive experience for their broods. It was a small but quaint affair – about 200 people came with their families to take hayrides and play Ag-themed children’s games while enjoying the crisp, fall air and some good food. Since then, the Fall Harvest Festival has become a staple in the community and the premier ag-themed event in the state. The festival is a time to celebrate with and gather the community as well as the harvest; it gives everyone a chance to enjoy themselves in a clean (not from the dirt though), family-friendly, positive outlet.
