Local Leaders

Local Leaders Series

As part of our mission to inspire, enrich, and cultivate the community’s connection to the history and art of the Greater Palmer area, our Local Leaders Series celebrates the people who help shape our community every day. Through this program, local professionals, artists, entrepreneurs, educators, and community advocates share their stories, experiences, and expertise with the public. By highlighting the passion, innovation, and dedication of our neighbors, the Local Leaders Series fosters meaningful connections, encourages lifelong learning, and preserves the stories that make the Greater Palmer area a vibrant place to live, work, and create.

Our Local Leaders Series strives to:

  • Connect residents and visitors to local voices and stories.
  • Enrich the community by providing opportunities for public speaking, storytelling, and development of communication skills.
  • Encourages civic pride among residents.
  • Inspire others by providing a space for meaningful conversation about the work that is being done in the Greater Palmer area.

2026 Local Leaders Program Information

Local Leaders is an annual program presented by the Palmer Museum of History and Art that celebrates community members passionate about their work and the impact they make. This year’s theme is ARTISTS!

This year, we’re partnering with Palmer Toastmasters to help participants develop their public speaking skills and craft a compelling presentation about their work, experiences, and passions.

As a participant, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Share your story with the community
  • Build confidence as a public speaker

  • Connect with local supporters, artists, and community members
  • Highlight the work you love & the impact it has on the Greater Palmer Area
